We are pleased to announce that we can now invite you to bring flowers in for your loved ones in our homes. This is based on updated guidance and our internal review of our policy.
However, We would ask that if you have any symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 that continue to not visit the home and also do not send or deliver flowers due to this still posing a risk of infection. Thank you for your understanding and we are pleased to be able to share this good news.
Another financial year has ended, and as I look back and reflect on the past 12 months, I would like to take the time to thank you for the fantastic job you have all been doing and for all your hard work, commitment, and invaluable contributions in efforts to make our homes a superb place to live or work.
The last 24 months have been challenging and we are currently working through our homes revival plan which was introduced to strengthen our homes support and hopefully put us back in the strong position we were in before the pandemic.
Pay increases
In October 2021, every member of the Adept team benefitted from a pay increase to combat the rising cost of living. This increase took our rates of pay to an industry high and I am pleased to announce a further pay increase from 1st April 2022. We have decided that moving forward we will put all resources into increasing pay rather than uncertain periodic bonuses i.e., CQC GOOD BONUS, which will be discontinued from 1st April 2022.

The care home received an overall “Good” in the inspection report.
Sisters are residing together at Chetwynd House Care Home.
There’s not a hint of sibling rivalry when you meet Nottinghamshire-born sisters, Maureen (84) and Margaret (82). In fact, you’d say the exact opposite of the pair who are so close, and are living together at Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.
“I love my sister more than anything, I originally moved to Chetwynd House because I didn’t want to be alone and the home has such a community feel. It really does feel like home. I am so glad Maureen chose to join me here,” said Margaret.
Maureen added: “We’ve had the odd squabble in our time, but mostly, we just get on like friends more than sisters. It’s great living together, we have a lot to talk about and both enjoy the resident clubs and activities here. It’s like we’ve never been apart!”
“We think it’s wonderful that Margaret and Maureen have chosen to live together here at Chetwynd House. They tell us they used to get up to mischief and listening to them reminisce with tales of their childhood, it’s clear they have experienced so much of their lives together. Their bond is remarkable and it’s truly heart-warming that they are able and choose to be together now,” said Kate Gilvear, Home Manager.
Moat House Care Home in Burbage was chosen to host a tree-planting ceremony in their award-winning gardens by Leicestershire County Council to mark Her Majesty, The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
The residents and team at Moat House Care Home were joined by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant – the Queen’s representative in Leicestershire, to plant a Royal Oak tree for the jubilee, and it’s hoped that other communities across the county will follow suit.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen for such an honor, I love the queen and it’s the perfect way to mark such a special occasion here at Moat House” said Peter Stowe, a resident at Moat House.
The tree will form part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique tree-planting initiative created to mark the Platinum Jubilee.
“The resident’s enjoyed the day and are so pleased with the newest addition to their garden. The tree’s love and care will become an ongoing part of the resident’s annual gardening club. We hope this will be the first of many trees to be planted in Burbage.” – said Hayley Langley, Home Manager.
Resident Chefs Put Culinary Skills to the Test in Cooking Competition
Residents from a local care homes Douglas Court in Derby have been crowned winner of a regional ‘Master Chef style’ cooking competition.
The competition formed part of an ongoing competition by Adept Care Homes, which started with residents growing their own ‘mystery seed’ as part of the gardening club launch in the Spring, this year. This final part of the healthy living and eating campaign tasked residents in the Midlands-based care homes to choose and cook a recipe incorporating their home-grown vegetable which turned out to be ‘the Artichoke’.
“It was so much fun deciding on what to make but we had help from Hazel, our cook. Pastry is such a difficult thing to get right but we made a really good go of it!” said resident Harriett, Douglas Court Resident.
