The dedicated team at Bowood Court Care Home, a provider of high-quality care services in Redditch, recently participated in an industry-leading Dysphagia Training program which allows the team to provide a dining with dignity experience for every single one of their residents.
This comprehensive training, The International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative – (IDDSI) Framework equips the team with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide specialised care for individuals with swallowing difficulties, promoting improved health and well-being.
Dysphagia, a condition affecting the ability to swallow safely and efficiently. Recognising the importance of providing high-quality care to its residents, Bowood Court Care Home invested in this training initiative to enhance the skills of its team members and further improve the standard of care provided.
The Dysphagia Training program, conducted by renowned experts in the field, covered a range of topics including understanding the physiology of swallowing, identifying signs and symptoms of dysphagia and implementing appropriate diet modifications.
