Douglas Court, Derby, delighted audiences and judges alike with their imaginative performance, earning the title of Best Creative Choir at this year’s Christmas Choir Competition.
Chetwynd House, Chilwell, secured the award for Best Traditional Choir at the annual Christmas Choir Competition, held at St. Catherine’s Church in Burbage.
Their rendition of a classic Christmas carol showcased the timeless beauty of traditional festive music. Judges praised the choir’s dedication and harmonious performance, which transported the audience to a heartwarming holiday scene.

This festive culinary tradition sees residents from all seven Adept care homes come together to create their ultimate mince pies. The process begins with residents reminiscing about their favourite recipes and debating what makes the perfect mince pie. Guided by their skilled chef teams, each home crafts their signature version, which is then presented to a panel of judges for a blind taste test.
The Old Vicarage, Clay Cross, claimed the title of Best Contemporary Choir at Adept Care Homes’ annual Christmas Choir Competition, hosted at St. Catherine’s Church.
Known for their creativity and modern twist, The Old Vicarage choir captivated the audience with their contemporary rendition of a holiday classic. Months of preparation paid off as their heartfelt performance stood out among the talented choirs from all seven Adept Care Homes.
Resident David Taylor (86), who resides at Harrier House Care Home was honored to welcome members of the local Royal British Legion (RBL) for a heartfelt visit following this year’s Remembrance Day Parade. This special occasion was inspired by veteran David, who proudly marched through the town as part of the commemorative event.
