Ada is Making Waves Thanks to Chetwynd House Care Home’s ‘Make a Wish’ Program

Ada Smalley (89) who resides at Chetwynd House Care Home in Beeston, Nottingham, has her wish come true as part of the Adept Care Homes’ ‘Make A Wish’ program.

Over 500 residents are encouraged to make a wish, no matter how big or small, the wishes are put it in the home’s magic wishing well and every month, one resident is picked to have their wish come true.

Ada’s wish was to go swimming, she has always been passionately active and enjoys nurturing her health and wellbeing. Ada can usually be found taking part in the homes exercise classes or taking a brisk walk with her fellow residents. “I love to swim, it has always been one of my favourite ways to relax and exercise at the same time,” chuckled Ada.

Manager at Harrier House Care Home ‘Braves the Shave’ to Support Resident’s Social Fund

Samantha Kavanagh, Home Manager and Sally Jackson, Senior Carer at Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall ‘BRAVED THE SHAVE’ by shaving their heads on Tuesday 28th February 2023 at Harrier House to support the resident’s social fund and their in-house ‘Make A Wish’ programme.

This fundraiser is part of a range of activities and fundraising events the team at Harrier House take part in, to ensure their residents are living meaningful and enriched lives as well as to give back to local communities, charities, and organisations.

“The home also has an in-house ‘Make A Wish’ program, where every resident is encouraged to make a wish, no matter how big or small,” said Sam.
