Having spent numerous years passionately immersed in the world of motorbikes, Roy’s wish is to relive the joy of riding which was achieved by the dedicated Wellbeing team at Chetwynd House and the outpouring support of their local community.

Chetwynd House Care Home in Beeston proudly announces the realisation of a cherished dream for one of its residents, Roy. Residents are encouraged to write down their biggest wish for 2023 and place it in the home’s ‘wishing well’. Every month, one wish is randomly picked, and the dedicated activities and wellbeing team set to work making the big dream come true.
Having spent numerous years passionately immersed in the world of motorbikes, Roy’s wish is to relive the joy of riding which is set to be fulfilled by the dedicated Wellbeing team at Chetwynd House and the outpouring support of their local community.
Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell, Nottingham, part of family-run Adept Care Homes, has been crowned ‘Winner’ for Best Facilities Management, Maintenance or Housekeeping Team in the national Care Home Awards 2023. The Adept Care Homes group of 7 homes, including Chetwynd House also received a High Commendation for Outstanding Small Care Provider for the third year running.
The Care Home Awards is one of the most highly regarded accolades available in the UK’s health and social care sector which celebrates the good work, innovative thinking and excellence in care which continue to drive the sector. Team surprised the residents with the exciting news at Chetwynd House.
Chetwynd House Care Home scooped an award for its Nutrition, Food and Dining Experience at the annual Adept Excellence Awards Gala Night.
The home who prides itself in providing ‘a superb place to live or work’ was recognised for its efforts over the past 12 months.
“It’s amazing that our hard work has been recognised, our hospitality team is passionate about leading change within the field of culinary and hospitality in our care home settings. We take pride in producing healthy, appetising food that provides good nutrition and hydration, which is essential to wellness and the physical and mental well-being of our residents. Delicious menus are inspired by the residents themselves and every decision at the home is resident-led,” said Naomi Jones, Hospitality Manager for Adept Care Homes and Chetwynd House Care Home.
Two neighbours who shared a fence and a close friendship for over 30 years have been reunited at Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.
Bob Peatman (95) joined the other residents at Chetwynd House in April this year and it wasn’t long until he ‘bumped’ into a very familiar face, Ann White (90) who has resided at the home for just over a year.

Ada Smalley (89) who resides at Chetwynd House Care Home in Beeston, Nottingham, has her wish come true as part of the Adept Care Homes’ ‘Make A Wish’ program.
Over 500 residents are encouraged to make a wish, no matter how big or small, the wishes are put it in the home’s magic wishing well and every month, one resident is picked to have their wish come true.
Ada’s wish was to go swimming, she has always been passionately active and enjoys nurturing her health and wellbeing. Ada can usually be found taking part in the homes exercise classes or taking a brisk walk with her fellow residents. “I love to swim, it has always been one of my favourite ways to relax and exercise at the same time,” chuckled Ada.
With only four weeks until Christmas Day (yes, really!) residents and their families at Chetwynd House Care Home in Chilwell, Nottingham are getting very excited about the prospect of a visit from Father Christmas. The great news is, they don’t have to wait until December 24 for the jolly fellow to head to Nottinghamshire.
