Residents Make Connections thanks to Friendship Scheme

Adept Connect, Adept’s friendship scheme is helping residents to form more friendships, especially since it has been expanded to include inter-home visits and joint trips out.

Residents at the Old Vicarage, Douglas Court and Kiwi House have already been enjoying meeting and making new friends.

“I think having friends and people to talk to is important. Sometimes as you get older, it’s easy to lose touch with people so I think it’s good to make new friends. I have met a lovely lady called Margaret, I had lots to talk about with her as we had lots in common from listening to country music to doing puzzles, so I’m looking forward to meeting up with her again. I am lucky as I have a lot of old friends that keep in touch and I socialise with people where I live, but you can never have too many friends can you?” Stella Brailsford, Old Vicarage resident

“What a great idea. It’s not often I get out but I do enjoy company,” Constance Wright, a Douglas Court resident

“This initiative aims to genuinely connect residents with those at other locations and help form friendships. We are very proud of our inclusive social programme at all our homes and this addition recognises the need we all have to meet new people. We’ve already seen the start of some lovely friendships with residents at Douglas Court, The Old Vicarage and Kiwi House Care Home,” Dave Lock, Adept Care Homes Managing Director.
