Midlands care operator secures funding for a new purpose-built care home

Care home operator Adept Care Homes has received £4.65 million loan facilities from The Royal Bank of Scotland to allow a second brand new care home in the group to commence in Derby.
Kiwi House residential and dementia care home, located on Coleman Road, will allow for facilities including 78 spacious rooms – all with en-suite, a hairdressing salon, a cinema room and a pub. The new purpose built care home has begun and will complete in May 2016 creating 80 full and part time jobs – total employees across the group will rise to 340. Adept Care Homes has been operating in the Midlands for over 30 years and boast five established care homes in the group. Kiwi House will be the second purpose built care home in the group, the first was Moat House in Burbage, near Hinckley which opened in 2012. A refinance deal at the end of 2014 has taken RBS total loan facilities to £16.65 million. With the addition of Kiwi House, the group are projecting a turnover of £6.5 million. Dave Lock, Principal at Adept Care Homes said, “The next 12 months is very exciting as we see Kiwi House evolving into a state of the art care home. RBS has been a tremendous support and we are delighted with their appetite to help us continue with our expansion. “The creation of jobs to the area is a positive move for us and Derby allowing us to provide dedicated residential and dementia care to our elderly patients. Our long-term focus is to continue our success story across the Midlands, providing the highest standards of care.” Kenny Nelson, Healthcare Relationship Director at RBS, added, “Adept Care has a proven track record of providing first-class care in the Midlands and I have no doubt Kiwi House will be a fantastic new addition. This latest development is testament to our commitment in the healthcare sector and our support to new build developments.”
